Operational Stabilisation & Systemic Restructuring

  • Stepping into a complex, multi-brand tourism enterprise encompassing 8 distinct brands, the marketing function was buckling under the weight of its own operational complexity.

The department was entirely reactive, overwhelmed by a constant influx of undocumented requests into a single overflowing inbox, and operating without intentional campaigns or performance measurement.

Furthermore, decision-making was stalled by executive bottlenecks. This systemic failure resulted in extreme cognitive load, culminating in an entire team turnover—including the predecessor and 2IC—within my first 30 days.

The remaining skeleton crew was left drowning in chaos with zero capacity for proactive, revenue-generating strategy.

  • Rather than simply working harder to clear the impossible backlog, I initiated a rapid, AI-powered strategic diagnosis of the entire marketing ecosystem.

To stop the immediate bleeding, I designed, pitched, and implemented centralised intake architectures, routing the chaotic inbox through a new request form and into a structured Trello triage system.

I realigned existing staff, completely rewriting my assistant's position description to match her actual administrative strengths and remove her from failing workflows.

Crucially, I deployed AI as a strategic team multiplier. By utilising advanced models to rapidly draft content guides, generate creative variants, and script short-form videos, I effectively shielded the team from heavy, repetitive execution tasks so they could breathe.

  • With the ground-level operations stabilised, I elevated the intervention to the executive level.

I initiated a series of strategic meetings with the Director of Sales and Marketing to map the exact structural failures regarding campaign prioritisation, sequencing, and decision flow. My recommendations were adopted and implemented, effectively removing the leadership bottleneck.

Simultaneously, I mapped out a 90-day plan focusing purely on high-leverage, low-lift revenue opportunities. This included streamlining the mobile booking path, introducing prominent "Popular Tickets" architecture to reduce consumer cognitive load, and adding frictionless wallet payments (Apple Pay/Google Pay) to capture direct conversions.

  • A highly fractured, reactive environment was rapidly transitioned into a structured, predictable marketing operation.

By combining rigorous auditing and systems design with AI to shoulder the heavy lifting of content generation, the remaining team was granted the autonomy and clarity required to execute capably despite severe resource constraints.

The intervention successfully restored strategic focus, improved campaign sequencing, and proved that implementing the right architecture can stabilise even the most overwhelmed corporate environments.
