The Fish Whisperers
Complex Data Structuring & Custom Architecture
-
The Fish Whisperers operates a highly specific shore-based fishing service restricted by strict geographical and environmental variables.
Service viability across their six distinct venues is dictated entirely by local high tide times. Historically, the operator had to manually cross-reference these fluctuating tides against three fixed daily booking intervals (10:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 4:00 PM).
Because standard booking software prevents double-bookings but does not natively display marine weather, there was no way to make instant, reliable booking decisions without toggling between multiple screens and weather apps.

Rather than defaulting to commission-heavy industry apps or fragile third-party integrations , I utilised advanced AI modeling to mathematically stress-test several software architectures and locate their breaking points.
After validating the logic, I designed an "Overlay Calendar" architecture within Acuity Scheduling. By effectively tricking the software into treating the ocean tide as a "dummy staff member," I was able to inject an entire year's worth of high-tide data into the booking ecosystem.
Following this structural stabilisation, I acted as an operational co-pilot, using AI to code and deploy a custom, lightweight web application from scratch to further streamline their specific field workflows.

The initial architecture delivered a frictionless, single-screen system.
The operator can now view a side-by-side daily grid where coloured high-tide blocks sit directly next to available booking slots.
This allows them to instantly lock in client details while on the phone, without navigating away from the calendar.
The subsequent custom-coded app evolved this ecosystem even further, providing a highly tailored, accessible interface designed exclusively around the reality of how they operate out on the shore.

By translating complex environmental constraints into a predictable digital framework, the business completely eliminated the cognitive load of manual cross-referencing.
The operator achieved zero double-bookings from a single screen , entirely avoiding unnecessary ongoing API and marine weather subscription fees.
This systemic architecture provided immediate operational relief and successfully future-proofed the business for fully automated online bookings.
